2012 INDUCTEE PAMELA GRISWOLD
1988 Nebraska Number One Girl. Track Operator. BMX Mom.
• Winter 1985 – Made biggest mistake of her life and started dating David Griswold. Helped David with scheduling and running Concrete Commandos BMX trick team shows.
• Spring 1986 – Finished High School, gets married to David
• June 1986 – Moves to Omaha with David
• Summer/fall 1986 – started meeting local kids (Jeremy, Gino, etc) and going to races out of town as informal team. Pam starts racing.
• 1987 – Pam and David run Bellevue BMX track for a season.
• Winter 1987 – worked with BMX parents to get Papillion BMX up and running, hand off to Ernie.
• 1988 – 1989 – Pam continues racing and is Team Mom for GRIZZ/Kustom Inc. Teams. She breaks her hand at 1988 Grands Race of Champions, doesn’t get to race Grands. Pam is the Nebraska #1 Girl for 1988 season.
• Fall 1988/Winter 1989 – Starts and runs indoor track at Christensen field in Fremont, NE with David.
• 1990 – 2003 – Takes a break from BMX.
• 2004 – Pam and David take over Track Operations and Southwest Iowa Amateur Cycling Club (SWIACC) board of XtremeBMX and run track for 2004 season.
• 2004 – XtremeBMX loses land and has to move.
• July 2005 – XtremeBMX re-opens at Mount Crescent in Crescent, IA. Pam and Dave run it for two years, until it closes in 2007 due to Mount Crescent being sold.
• Jan 2006 – XtremeBMX Indoors runs for a 3 month schedule at State Fair Grounds in Lincoln.
• Sept 2006 – After years of working/fighting with City of Omaha, Omaha BMX finally opens!
• Today – Pam and David have been running the SWIACC managed tracks for 9 of their 10 seasons in operation.
Pam Griswold was inducted into the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame on August 18th, 2012.
