2011 INDUCTEE BRIAN HAIFLEY

Mr. Bike BMX Team Member

Brian Haifley was a member of the Mr. Bike BMX Race Team from Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a pioneer in the sport during the early days of Bicycle Motocross Racing. He raced at the first BMX track in Nebraska – Yankee Hill BMX under the National Bicycle Association (NBA) sanction. As one of the younger riders in Nebraska during the 1970’s, Brian was at the front of the pack in every local, regional and national event he attended. He had one of the best attitudes in BMX, always up for fun and ready to have a good time at the races. He was liked by the older riders and seemed older than his years. There are many great things to remember about Brian and the early days of BMX in Nebraska. For a few years Brian’s father sponsored a race team called RECHA Marketing with riders like Brian, Joe Baumert and Rex Reason. Brian was inducted into the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame on August 27th, 2011.
