Began Racing in 1980. ABA Pro Racer During the 1980’s.

Matt Brodecky began his BMX racing career in 1980 at age 10 at the Northeast YMCA BMX Track in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a pioneer in the sport during the early days of Bicycle Motocross racing. Matt and his father Bob were often found volunteering at the races and promoting the sport of BMX. Matt’s interest in BMX grew and soon he was racing at every track in Nebraska from Omaha to York. In the 1980’s Matt was sponsored by his parents, Lincoln Schwinn, Cycle Works and then was offered a spot on the Co-Factory Titan Racing Team. Matt was ranked Number One in Nebraska during the 1985 season on his 20 inch bike and later he was also Number One on his 24 inch Cruiser. Matt set his sights on Professional BMX racing in the American Bicycle Association (ABA) PRO Class in 1988 during his senior year of high school. During his years as a Pro Matt was often found out front even beating some of the nations top Professional riders.

Matt returned to BMX racing in 2001 and for the next few years he was on the Direct Link Factory team, winning national events in the 28 & Over Expert class and 31-35 Cruiser. Matt was inducted into the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame on August 27th, 2011.
