Kevin Renker was an original member of the Mr. Bike BMX Race Team from Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a pioneer in the sport during the early days of Bicycle Motocross racing. He helped build and raced at the first BMX track in Nebraska – Yankee Hill BMX under the National Bicycle Association (NBA) sanction. He also raced in the American Bicycle Association (ABA) PRO Class during the 1979 - 1980 seasons. Kevin was on the SE Racing Factory Team in 1978 - 1980. He was inducted into the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame on August 21st, 2010.

Kevin was one of the first riders in Nebraska to be noticed on the national level of BMX racing. By late 1978 news of Kevin's winning record in the Midwest spread to Southern California where Scot Breithaupt and his SE Racing BMX company and Factory Team were located. Scot was always looking for new talent and when he saw Kevin race, he new that Kevin would make a great addition to the team. Kevin rode for SE Racing until the early 1980's.

As an amateur, Kevin totally dominated his age group in Nebraska and throughout the Midwest. When he turned Pro in 1980, he helped establish the Pro racing scene in Nebraska as one of the most competitive in the country.
